Me in the Meadows

Stefan Bühne

Curious Nerd & Analytical Thinker

Experience

Actually, I’ve been around for a while, and had the chance to grow and become the person I am today.

About Me

I am a curious mind with a passion for digital strategy, technological capabilities for innovation, and smart concepts for complex endeavors. The technological advances in the recent decades offer so much opportunity that today is probably the best time ever for a nerdy person like me. Besides science and technology, I love food, reading, hiking, cycling, and many other sources of inspiration and relief.

What I’ve Done

During many years of coding in C/C++, Java, Ruby and other languages, I learned to appreciate the power of good architectures and great designs. As IT infrastructure became also relevant for my work, I started to apply my technical understanding and communication skills to develop comprehensive IT architectures that balance customer value, development effort, and operational efficiency. IT should be useful and make a difference, right?

What I Do

Currently, I work as an Enterprise IT Architect at a European insurance group where I contribute to IT strategy, IT governance, design, and implementation of large-scale, complex IT architectures. Connecting people, business and technology to facilitate innovation, I strive to build useful stuff and make things a bit simpler and better. Let’s see what the age of the cloud, machine learning and big data may bring in the upcoming years.

Quotes

Edward V. Berard
Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.

W. Edwards Deming

There are no shortcuts – everything is reps, reps, reps.
